The Chief of Psychiatry is responsible for the overall direction of psychiatric services for the agency, including but not limited to the services provided by the campus programs and the Mental Health Division. The Chief of psychiatry is responsible for the overall management of administrative responsibilities, the provision of excellent clinical care, and the provision of leadership in psychiatry, both internal and with our stakeholders.
The Chief of Psychiatry is responsible for providing psychiatric services that effective and informed by best practices and for participating in the ongoing acquisition of knowledge in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry.
The Chief of Psychiatry is also responsible for successfully representing the agency in interactions with other medical professionals and stakeholders. Excellent communication with children, families and funders is a must.
The qualified candidate will possess:
Current New York State Physician License and DEA registration plus BC/BE in Child, (adolescent) psychiatry.
Minimum of five year’s experience in clinical psychiatry, including child psychiatry.
Experience providing administrative and clinical supervision to other psychiatrists
Excellent analytical and management skills to resolve complex clinical and administrative problems.
Strong computer skills with knowledge of EMR.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to meet session productivity standards.
Ability to travel and possess a valid driver’s license
Strong oral, written, and organization skills.
