Senior Clinical Consultant at McLean Southeast Adolescent Services Continuum
McLean Hospital, America’s top ranked freestanding psychiatric hospital, is inviting applications for a Senior Clinical Consultant – Part-Time, in Belmont, MA.
GENERAL OVERVIEW: Act as a consultant to the McLean Southeast Adolescent Services Continuum. Responsibility to apply specific knowledge regarding various evidence-based treatment modalities, and expertise in leadership and program management, via consultation with program leaders and staff, as requested. Has expertise in the treatment of psychiatrically impaired adolescents, parent guidance and family therapy. Has demonstrated ability to provide supervision on both an individual case basis and on an overall programmatic level. Provides consultation to program leaders on administrative matters as indicated. Aids in the planning, implementation and dissemination of clinical research – including development and use of functional outcome metrics to assess efficacy of care.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1) Provides consultation on leadership to program leaders, as required for program operations and professional development. Includes topics such as personnel management, program planning, team building and interpersonal communication and problem-solving 2) Assists in development of training curricula to assure that staff is fully prepared to achieve their respective clinical work requirements. 3) Provides supervision, mentoring, teaching and consultation to staff regarding treatment planning, implementation in the milieu, and individual/family care, as well as disposition planning. 4) Aids in the planning, implementation and dissemination of clinical research – including development and use of functional outcome metrics to assess efficacy of care.
PhD, MSW, or MD with license, appropriate to clinical discipline.
Minimum of five years of relevant experience – including in areas of clinical training and supervision, and clinical research.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
1. Ability to supervise clinical team in accordance with established practice guidelines 2. Working and thorough knowledge of various evidence-based treatments, including DBT and CBT - especially in application to adolescents 3. Ability to work in high action atmosphere 4. Ability to interact with patients and parents/family members
