The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for Psychiatrists at the Cleveland VA Medical Center and the Parma VA Outpatient Clinic. This is an OPEN CONTINOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until December 31, 2021. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be March 11, 2021. Eligible applications received after that date will be referred at regular intervals or as additional vacancies occur on an as-needed basis until positions are filled. The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System, a teaching affiliate of Case Western Reserve University, is recruiting for a Psychiatrist in Psychiatry Service. The Psychiatrist will provide general outpatient psychiatric treatment and acute inpatient psychiatric treatment as needed to an adult psychiatric population with diverse diagnoses, including major affective disorders, psychotic disorders, post-traumatic stress disorders (PTSD), and substance use disorders. Major duties and responsibilities include: Providing diagnostic assessment/evaluation and therapeutic interventions, treatment planning, psychiatric medication management, substance abuse treatment, monitoring clinical response to treatment, coverage on the inpatient psychiatric ward as needed, adjustments in levels of care as necessary and other specialized services as required. Supervising third-year medical students on the inpatient psychiatry unit and PGY 1-4 psychiatry residents in both inpatient and outpatient settings, as needed. Candidates must be highly motivated, flexible and able to work as part of an integrated team that provides sound diagnostic and therapeutic care to Veterans with a wide range of psychiatric disorders. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with on call duties required (evenings/weekends) as necessary. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases. Education and length of practice will be considered through a formal pay-setting process in determining the final compensable salary (Base Pay + Market Pay). Paid Time Off: Annual leave at the rate of eight (8) hours per biweekly pay period; Sick leave at the rate of four (4) hours per biweekly pay period; 10 paid Federal holidays per year. Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years' vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA. Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement). Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): You may be eligible to apply for the Education Debt Reduction Program pending funding availability. Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory. CME: Possible $1,000 per year stipend + possible 1 week paid authorized absence to attend. Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided. Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting.
