This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more The VA Northern California Healthcare System is currently recruiting for a Senior Social worker for the General Mental Health Program (GM) in the Mental Health Service at the Martinez, CA location. Telework, if approved, would be on a regularly scheduled basis, but this is not a virtual or remote position. The primary function of the GMH Telemental Health Provider is to deliver empirically supported psychotherapeutic services such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Mood Disorders, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Treatment is provided via telemental health modalities (such as clinical video teleconferencing). The incumbent has excellent organizational skills and strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for delivering distance-based mental health services, contributing to a high performance environment and a strong team orientation. Major duties include, but are not limited to: Provides specialized clinical services at all levels of complexity for patients, with service delivery to include intake evaluation, diagnostic assessments, psychotherapy and patient education, primarily using telemental health modalities. Provides a variety of empirically supported psychotherapeutic services to patients with psychological disorders through telemental health modalities. Consults with medical center, clinic, and community based staff on a wide variety of patient care issues. Develops person-centered, culturally sensitive treatment plans to address mental health needs of patients. Complies with national and local performance measures, including timely health care screening and completion of clinical reminders for all patients. Completes all clinical charting and documentation required by the Medical Center or healthcare system. Attends meetings to collaborate and coordinate.
