The New Mexico Veterans Affairs Health Care System (NMVAHCS) is recruiting for 1 Social Worker (Program Coordinator- Outpatient Mental Health Care). As the Program Coordinator, the incumbent is responsible for planning, establishing, and implementing policies and procedures; developing individual or group goals and objectives for Outpatient Mental Health as well as monitoring, operating, evaluating, coordinating and overseeing the Social Work and other staff under their supervision. Major duties include, but are not limited to: Performs the administrative and personnel management function relative to staff supervised. Works to resolves informal complaints and grievances. Develops performance improvement plans, recommending personnel actions as necessary. Conducts training for staff, students and community providers regarding outpatient mental health related issues, will provide education, information and liaison with resources for Veterans in the community, and will provide technical assistance and educational sessions to community organizations as needed. Coordinates interdisciplinary staffing and work assignments for social workers and other assigned staff within the Outpatient Mental Health Program, as well as collaborative efforts with the acute inpatient psychiatry units and the Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (RRTP). Conducts psychosocial assessments to determine needs of Veterans and family members. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
