A dynamic, internally motivated physician with a background of training in Addiction Medicine or General Psychiatry with either experience or a subspeciality in Addiction Medicine/Psychiatry who can lead a team of health care professionals in the task of detoxification and treatment of addiction and co-occurring disorders in a residential setting. Develops and trains on up-to-date medical practices, policies and procedures with addiction medicine. Responsibilities will also include psychiatric coverage that reflects new and/or ongoing medical problems and initial evaluations. These may include: medical histories, physical exams, mental status evaluations, assessments, admission orders, and acute and chronic medication management. The provision of supervision, teaching and oversight to the entire medical department.
Medical Director must have an MD or DO degree with training in Addiction Medicine or Psychiatry and either experience or a subspeciality in Addiction Medicine/Psychiatry. Current licensure in the state of CT with an unrestricted medical license. DEA certification for the use of buprenorphine within sixty (60) days of hire or contract. The ability to work in a supportive, caring and non-judgmental environment with staff and patients. Prior experience as a Medical Director and/or equivalent management experience is preferred.
