DEPARTMENTAL SUMMARY: Outpatient Behavioral Health is part of St. Charles Medical Group and includes licensed master's level and doctoral level providers working in three Outpatient Behavioral Health clinic sites. We encourage collaboration between clinical and non-clinical staff to assure we are providing our community with comprehensive and compassionate health care.
POSITION OVERVIEW: The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP); works alongside the Outpatient Behavioral Health (OPBH) Psychiatrist in providing outpatient psychiatric care for the adult population. Such care includes evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and documentation. Coordination of medical, surgical, ancillary, nursing, and other services to achieve the best and most cost-effective outcomes for patients under his/her care.
Work schedule: The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Call Schedule: PMHNP will not participate in call rotation.
Practice Location: PMHNP will render the Professional Services at such SCHS Facilities as may be directed by SCMG, and at such other facilities and locations as may be established by SCHS or SCMG from time to time. It is anticipated that the primary work locations will be as follows:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
Diagnose and treat disorders across the spectrum of presenting psychiatric conditions in an outpatient setting.
Manage acute and chronic psychiatric conditions.
Participate patient education and promote patient wellness.
Analyze reports and findings.
Utilize and coordinate both on-site and referral based ancillary services when appropriate.
Order or execute various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition.
Order, prescribe, and/or recommend drugs and biologicals or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, sleep study, or related therapeutic procedures.
Document patient care in the proper form and in a timely manner in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations. Promote good health and prevent illness.
Cooperate with other SCHS physicians and caregivers to insure optimal patient care.
Share after-hours call.
Be available to furnish patient care services at all times the clinic is operating.
Psychiatric Practice in Contracted Community Settings:
Provide onsite psychiatric assessment, coordination of treatment planning and, when indicated, medication management with Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinics.
Document patient care in the proper form and in a timely manner in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations. Provide detailed documentation of services provided for purposes of billing and reimbursement for contracted services.
Provide case consultation services and cart review to clinic practitioners on an as needed basis.
Conduct activities within the same moral standards, compliance with attendance at all times within a professional and ethical manner as a SCHS representative.
Acts as a leader and supports departmental goals and the vision, mission, and values of the St. Charles Health System in all respects.

Complies with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, supporting the health system's corporate integrity efforts by acting in an ethical and appropriate manner, reporting known or suspected violations of applicable rules, and cooperating fully with all health system's investigations and proceedings.
Keep all licenses and appropriate certifications current and unrestricted to maintain privileges at a St. Charles Health System hospital sufficient to permit performance of job duties.
Increases understanding and collaboration throughout the medical community.
Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner course of study and certification as appropriate to the incumbent's license.
Complete annual fire/safety, etc. education in-services as required.
Attend mandatory educational offerings as described in SCHS policies/procedures and/or as required by other regulatory bodies.
Complete annual CME as required to maintain license and appropriate Board certification.
Complete in a timely manner assigned Computer Based Learning modules.
License Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Nurse Practitioner requires AANC, NCC or AANP, AMCB certification. Unrestricted Federal DEA number
Unrestricted ability to participate in Medicare / Medicaid, or other federal or state governmental health care programs.
Valid driver's license and the ability to meet SCHS driving requirements.
Current BLS certification required.
If provider will practice sedation, moderate or deep, ACLS certification is also required.
Additional certifications may be required based on privileges granted to provider by Medical Staff Services at SCHS Inpatient locations.
Oregon MSN licensure preferred.
Federal DEA number registered in Oregon.
0-2 years' experience as an Advanced Practice Provider.
Experience using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) software
Advanced written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with a diverse population and professionally represent St. Charles Health System
Experience working in a team environment and proven ability to collaborate, manage facilitation and consensus building among health care professionals and agencies to achieve expected results
2+ years' experience as an Advanced Practice Provider.
Epic EMR software experience.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform the job safely.
ADDITIONAL POSITION INFORMATION
