Inova's Behavioral Health Access Service is looking for a full time Psychiatrist to join the walk-in IPAC Clinic.

Inova's Behavioral Health program promotes total wellness - mind and body - by providing a full spectrum of mental health treatment and care. Inova has inpatient, outpatient, and partial hospitalization programs designed to provide care and treatment in the best manner available.

Inova Behavioral Health Access Services (IBHAS) provides a unique and valuable resource to the Northern Virginia and Washington, DC metro area by serving as one of the access points to Inova Behavioral Health Treatment Services. IBHAS offers a psychiatric walk in clinic (IPAC) as well as emergency psychiatric assessment support to all Inova ED's through a central access call center and Emergency Psychiatric Liaison services team of non-physician clinicians. IPAC is an urgent care for patients seeking mental health evaluation for mental health symptoms in the absence of any imminent safety concerns (e.g. SI, HI, acute psychosis/mania/aggression, acute substance intoxication/withdrawal)

IPAC physician will evaluate patient for symptoms of primary psychiatric illness and formulate treatment plan as appropriate (e.g. prescribe medication, recommend therapy, recommend higher level of care etc.) Patients presenting to IPAC are typically seeking evaluation and treatment for depression, anxiety, mood disorder; patients with psychotic disorders are seen but not as commonly

IPAC is located at the Inova Merrifield location which is in close proximity to the IFH medical campus.

IPAC is open Mon-Fri from 8am-4:00pm, with patient visits primarily being conducted virtually at this time due to the COVID-19 pandemic (this is subject to change depending on the status of the pandemic) unless patient requests an in-clinic face-to-face evaluation. This full time position will see on average 1.0 about 6-7 patients in a day (on average, IPAC sees 75% new patients a month, 25% follow-up patients a month)
