Expected Starting Salary: 62.63 - 81.38 SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) are Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), Physician Assistant (PA), Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) or Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) providing clinical services including diagnosis of illness, development and management of treatment plans, prescription of medication. APPs may see patients independently or as part of the health care team.
Scope: Manage/direct those staff providing clinical services to a defined patient population
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Mission Propose, research, and manage the development, implementation and assessment of long and short term operating goals and objectives. Operationalize, implement and monitor assigned strategic initiatives. Drive execution of the assigned strategic plan components
Clinical Operations Collaborate with interdisciplinary Directors and Medical Directors to plan, implement and evaluate services. Promote both internal and external customer service through the development and implementation of programs and standards which reflect that goal. Provide clinical leadership to ensure quality patients care outcomes. Monitor appropriateness and effectiveness of patient care through quality improvement programs. Collaborate with other department directors to ensure patient care needs are met. Promote clinical profession by participation in professional activities. Represent clinical practice and CCHMC at local state and national levels through involvement in professional associations and organizations. Promote a family-centered approach to care delivery.
Performance Management Direct the development and monitoring of an effective staffing and retention strategy, including hiring and terminating employees, workforce planning, succession planning; attracting and retaining top performers, partnering with leadership and Human Resources to develop effective and appropriate recruitment packages, and effective on-boarding programs for staff; effective performance management of direct reports; in partnership with leadership, provide mentoring and development to faculty and other leaders in effective performance management; mentor and provide learning and development opportunities for direct reports and others in business roles; effectively and appropriately leveraging human resources business partners to meet the division's talent management goals; ultimate responsibility for supporting organizational programs/plans that impact employees and ensuring communication, comprehension, and adherence to all Human Resources policies and related legal and/or compliance requirements.
People Planning Coach and mentor personnel to enhance professional knowledge. Make job requirements and goals for each position clear to employees and provide sufficient training to achieve the desired level of competency. Oversee succession planning for key roles. Provide mentorship and development to direct and indirect reporting staff. Maintain accurate payroll records.
Financial Management Overall accountability for the financial management functions for the department. Develop, implement, evaluate and manage the department's annual and capital budget to achieve the Divisional and Departmental objectives; establish internal controls for cash management; implement and maintain a process for financial controls and external financial audits; develop and implement accounts receivable management; analyze and monitor financial performance and report financial results to stakeholders; evaluate variances, determine underlying causes and identify, present, and implement proposed solutions; establish and monitor productivity metrics; ultimate accountability for compliance with organizational financial policies and procedures
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
MSN
7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline
APRN/PA National Board Certification
APRN/PA state licensure
Preferred:
operational & supervisory experience within a complex medical center
