The Department of Psychiatry at The MetroHealth System is a major teaching hospital of Case Western Reserve University. It is the largest medical research institution in Ohio and ranked nationally among the top 1% hospital. Under the leadership of newly appointed Chairman, Dr. Rajendra Badgaiyan, the department has ambitious expansion plan to grow clinical and academic foot-print of the department in a newly built 112-bed behavioral health hospital in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. In addition to adult acute psychiatry units, the facility has an adolescent unit, psychiatric intensive care unit and intensive outpatient treatment programs.
To run the adolescent inpatient unit, the Department is inviting applications from a board-certified (or board eligible) Inpatient Child and Adolescent psychiatrist, who will provide clinical care for child and adolescent patients, and teach residents, medical students, and other learners. There will be opportunity for academic and career development.
The MetroHealth System offers a competitive compensation package, health insurance, paid time off, liability insurance, an academic appointment to the Case Western Reserve School of Medicine faculty at a rank commensurate with experience, CME opportunities, malpractice coverage, an impressive pension program with a generous employer match through the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) and excellent environment for faculty members to develop a strong clinical and research program (both basic and clinical).
As a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist, you have a number of opportunities to consider. However, few will offer you the personal and professional satisfaction and the opportunity to work in a safety-net academic, community integrated medical system that is leading the way to a healthier community through service, teaching, discovery, and teamwork. We have exceptional clinicians with extraordinary hearts, and we are looking for more to join us.
