Job Summary

Under general supervision, the psychologist provides doctoral level integrated behavioral health services as a Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) and functions as a key member of the primary care medical team. The BHC abides by guidelines and expectations specific to the clinic in which they provide patient care. Services will be provided in the Ambulatory Care Services (ACS) clinic(s) with a focus on therapeutic interventions across the lifespan. Services include expert diagnostic assessment and brief evidence-based treatment for psychiatric disorders and assessing psychosocial factors in patients with chronic medical conditions as well as substance abuse screening. The psychologist strives to create a positive customer service experience by committing to highest standards set forth by Denver Health. The psychologist provides case management and consultation, case coordination to facilitate referrals to specialty care, and crisis intervention. The psychologist is actively involved in quality improvement, data monitoring, and research projects. Participates in supervision and teaching for the pre-doctoral psychology internship and provides supervision to psychology residents and practicum students as needed.

• Physicians at Denver Health are faculty members of the University of Colorado School of Medicine serve as teachers for students seeking clinical experience at Denver Health and provide education for post graduate medical trainees. (10%)

(20%)
• Listen and Communicate by 1) providing clinical information in a clear and timely manner; 2) requesting information and resources needed to provide care consistent with Denver Health goals; and 3) provide and accept feedback in a respectful manner from all staff. (10%)
• Take Ownership by 1) providing leadership to improve outcomes quality and service quality; 2) work to ensure personal, departmental and organization compliance with all legal and educational requirements; and 3) steadily improve the efficiency and economic aspects of your practice. (20%)
• Quality Metrics. 1) Focus on clinically relevant outcome measures; 2) Change by embracing innovations to continuously improve patient care, service and organizational efficiency. (20%)
