University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a BC/BE Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Psychiatry Emergency Department Consult Service. Join a team of psychiatry clinicians and licensed mental health professionals in a fast-paced role providing psychiatric evaluation and treatment to patients in the emergency departments at the University of Minnesota Medical Center - West Bank and University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.

This role will transition to the new EmPATH (Emergency Psychiatric Assessment, Treatment, and Healing) center at UMMC, slated to open in 2024.

In this role, you will:

• Provide psychiatric evaluation and treatment to patients in the emergency department at the University of Minnesota Medical Center and University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital.
• Work possible shifts at the M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital EmPATH and telemedicine coverage for outlying hospitals throughout the M Health Fairview system.
• Work collaboratively with a team of licensed mental health professionals, RNs and psychiatrists to develop a consistent standard of care for our patients.
• See new patient consults and follow-ups each shift.

Your Schedule:

• Day, evening, weekend shifts
• 8 and 12 hour shifts
• No call

We're Looking For a PA or NP Who Is:

• A graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or formal Psychiatry Mental Health Nurse Practitioner training program.
• Eligible or is certified through NCCPA, ANCC or AANP.
• Licensed or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice (PAs) or MN APRN license or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through MN Board of Nursing (NP's).
• Able to meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
