Job Summary
The Psychology Postdoctoral Fellow provides high-quality training for future psychologists. It focuses on clinical and academic contributions to the field. This position offers clinical experience and supervision for licensure and self-directed practice. The program follows the practitioner-scholar model, valuing clinical work and academic endeavors. The fellowship is a 1-year postgraduate training experience.
Essential Functions of the Role
Participates in the psychological evaluation and treatment of patients in various care settings. Engages with enough frequency, depth, and duration to achieve advanced competencies required by their discipline. Acts under the supervision of licensed psychologists and attending clinical staff members.
Performs duties and procedures specified by the Program Director. These are done under a psychologist's supervision. They include clinical assessment, diagnostic testing, consultation, psychological therapies, and teaching.
Exercises progressive responsibility for patient care activities according to the Fellow's education, ability, and experience. The supervising psychologist and clinical staff will calculate that level of responsibility and autonomy.
Communicates effectively and continuously with the supervising psychologist about psychological evaluation findings and patient treatment. This includes case formulations, treatment projections, diagnostic testing, consultations, and clinical interventions.
Writes psychological consultations, assessment reports, and progress notes in the electronic medical record. Supervising psychologists retain ultimate responsibility for patient care. They review and oversee the care provided by the Postdoctoral Fellow and co-sign all chart entries.
Engages fully in educational activities, including clinical supervision and training seminars. Assumes an educator role with trainees and staff, as appropriate.
Takes responsibility to start, unite, and complete research projects. Works under the supervising psychologist to meet goals and timetables.
Participates in committees or task teams affecting patient care or the educational program. This includes quality assurance, quality improvement, and program recruiting.
Develop a personal learning program with teaching staff guidance. This program fosters lifelong professional growth as a psychologist.

Ability to know about behavioral deficits as well as personal strengths.
Ability to develop plans for implementing and monitoring recovery/rehabilitation activities, health enhancement, skill acquisition, and behavior management.
Ability to maintain timely and accurate records of psychological services to patients.
