Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and treatment of patients with chronic pain conditions.
Integrate psychiatric care with pain management strategies to optimize patient outcomes.
Utilize evidence-based therapies, including medication management and psychotherapy, to address pain-related mental health conditions.
Collaborate with primary care providers, pain specialists, and other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Quality and Safety Oversight:
Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives within the pain management and psychiatry departments.
Ensure adherence to clinical guidelines and standards of care for pain management and psychiatric services.
Monitor and improve patient outcomes and safety metrics.
Staff Education and Training:
Provide mentorship and education to medical students, residents, and fellows.
Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with advancements in pain management and psychiatry.
Conduct educational workshops and seminars for healthcare staff on pain management and mental health topics.
Patient Care:
Develop individualized treatment plans that address both pain and mental health conditions.
Interpret diagnostic tests and assessments to guide treatment decisions.
Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and management plans.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Collaboration and Teamwork:
Work collaboratively with other healthcare providers, including pain specialists, primary care physicians, and mental health professionals.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
Contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures related to pain management and mental health.
