Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Adult Psychiatry, Advanced Practice Provider.
Key Responsibilities
•Clinical Assessment: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including mental status examinations, medical history reviews, and diagnostic formulations for adult patients.
•Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment plans in collaboration with the attending psychiatrist and the broader care team.
•Medication Management: Provide ongoing monitoring and adjustment of psychotropic medications, ensuring patient safety and treatment efficacy.
•Collaborative Care: Work closely with social workers, psychologists, residents (including the Chief Resident), and nursing staff to ensure a seamless continuum of care.
•Crisis Intervention: Manage acute psychiatric symptoms and provide crisis stabilization and safety planning as required.
•Documentation: Maintain timely and accurate electronic health records (Epic) in compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
•Academic Integration: Participate in departmental grand rounds, case conferences, and the clinical supervision/teaching of students or residents as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Applicants with previous Advanced Practice Provider experience in mental health is preferred. Relevant RN experience may be considered.
Position Requirements:
Nurse Practitioner:
•Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process
•Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position
•Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP)
•CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications Physician Assistant: •Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Physician Assistant/Associate or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process
•Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate Program
•Current certification from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
•CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care. The individual who holds this position will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with the policies, procedures, guidelines of Rush, including the Rush Medical Group Customer Service standards. Successful candidates will also meet all other state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards.

Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, specialty; relevant experience and training; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. Additional compensation may include premium pay rates, sign-on bonuses, and relocation allowances. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.
Pay Range: $130,840 - $184,000
