Northern Light Acadia Hospital is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Child Psychiatrist to join our Child and Adolescent Inpatient Team in Bangor, Maine. In this position, you will join one of New England’s most comprehensive, technologically advanced freestanding psychiatric facilities!

The inpatient Child Psychiatrist leads an interdisciplinary team responsible for providing psychiatric care and teaching on the pediatric inpatient service. They will also be  will be eligible for a clinical faculty position at the University of New England School of Osteopathic Medicine.

Position Details:

• Monday-Friday schedule 
• Call is taken on rotation with medical staff and occurs approximately every 8 weeks 
• Candidates should have solid clinical, teaching, and leadership skills
• Position reports to the medical director of pediatric psychiatric services 

Responsibilities Include:

• Oversee the diagnostic process and formulation/implementation of treatment plans
• In conjunction with the interdisciplinary pediatric psychiatry team, perform diagnostic evaluations, initiate treatment interventions, provide follow-up evaluations as are indicated, and lead interdisciplinary team meetings
• Incorporate a variety of clinical perspectives and provide clinical leadership/supervision in treatment team meetings
• Collaborate with other clinicians to develop overall treatment philosophy and goals
