Department Overview The Psychiatric and Psychological departments provide services on both the Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses, with limited services at Woodwinds in Woodbury and Children's West in Minnetonka. Specific services include individual and family therapy, psychological assessment, neuropsychological assessment, and psychiatric evaluation and medication management (Available to children who are already patients of Children's mental health, pediatric, or subspecialty clinics.).
Position Summary
Advanced Practice Provider functions as a medically focused hospitalist in the child and adolescent inpatient mental health unit. APP is part of a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, mental health therapists, nurse practitioners, occupational, music, art therapists, and nursing staff. The schedule will include some weekends and holidays.
The primary duties include but are not limited to:
Complete admissions, provide clinical management of acute and chronic medical conditions and complete medical discharge summary.
Collaborate with consulting services including but not limited to endocrine, gynecology, wound team, and integrative therapies.
Provide care coordination as patients transition to partial hospitalizations and outpatient programming.
Support nurses with milieu and unit safety during behavioral escalation.
Work with leadership on quality improvement based on the needs of the child and adolescent inpatient mental health unit.
Qualifications
Education: APRN:Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program. Master's Degree required;Doctorate preferred.
License / Certification: Current MN RN/APRN License. Nationally Board Certified as a Nurse Practitioner with either the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
Current BLS required
