The University of Minnesota Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences (UMPhysicians) is seeking experienced psychiatrists to serve as casual part-time teaching attendings in our residency training clinics. These attendings will be assigned to work with a team of residents and other mental health professionals for 4-8 hour time blocks each week.
This new initiative is part of a revamp of our teaching clinic structure in order to create more specialized interprofessional clinical treatment teams. We are looking for experienced community colleagues who are enthusiastic about learning and teaching, who would enjoy helping 3rd year residents hone their skills, and who are excited to be part of new outpatient programs focused on mood disorders, anxiety and trauma, and psychosis.
Teaching attendings are present during clinic hours with the residents, hear about cases, participate in patient interviews with the residents, and help the residents to formulate and implement treatment plans
In this position you will:
- Practice at the M Health Fairview Psychiatry Clinic, on the Campus of the University of Minnesota Medical Center
- Work as a team with Psychiatrists, RN Care Coordinators, Pharmacy, Social Work, and clinic support staff.
Your schedule:
- Casual
- Clinic Hours, 4-8 hour time blocks
- No call
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited ACGME Psychiatry training program.
- Board eligible/certified with the ABMS.
- Licensed or ability to obtain medical license and DEA in the State of Minnesota and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience and expertise in working with acute psychiatric conditions and management in the delivery of care.
- Experience in an academic health center supporting residency education in a clinical setting.
